Aunjanue Ellis

Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor is an American stage and screen actress who is best recognized for her roles in films for the movie Ray Undercover Brother and on the television show The Mentalist. She graduated with a BA degree in African-American Studies and an MFA from the Tisch School of Arts New York University. Aunjanue Ellis works as a producer as well as an actress in the fields of theater, film, and TV. Her first job was acting in the theatre later on, she went on to make appearances in numerous TV shows, both mainstream and independent films. Her most well-known role was Miranda Shaw, a character on ABC's Quantico. The BET's massive show The Book of Negroes she played the role of Ariel. She did not only be praised by critics for her character, she also received a few awards and nominations. She made her professional acting debut with the character Ariel in The Tempest in 1995. The stage credits she has received include the Broadway show of Joe Turner's Come and Gone A Winter's Tale Drowning Crow and Seeking the Genesis. When it comes to film, she is known best for her appearances in films such as Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express and The Help. Also, she is well-known for her role on ABC's crime-drama High Incident.
